Application Process
Applications to the UMMC PM&R Residency Program are accepted through the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS).
Submit Your ERAS Application
Applicants submit all required application materials through ERAS, including:- Curriculum vitae and experiences
- Personal statement
- Medical school transcript
- USMLE and/or COMLEX scores
- Letters of recommendation
- Medical Student Performance Evaluation (MSPE)

- NRMP Match
Following interviews, applicants and programs submit rank order lists through the National Resident Matching Program (NRMP). Match results are released nationally on Match Day. - Orientation and Onboarding
Matched residents complete onboarding and orientation activities before beginning residency training. Orientation introduces incoming residents to:- Faculty and staff

- Hospital and training site operations

Visiting Students
Medical students interested in completing an elective with the UMMC PM&R Residency Program are encouraged to apply through the Visiting Student Learning Opportunities (VSLO®) Program.
Available elective opportunities provide exposure to our clinical training sites, faculty, residents and the breadth of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation practice at UMMC.
Applications, eligibility requirements, elective offerings and scheduling information can be found through the UMMC VSLO program.
